KYF Joins Retail Packaging Circular Sustainability Alliance

At the end of 2025, KYF officially joined the Retail Packaging Circular Sustainability Alliance, initiated by the Resource Circulation Administration, Ministry of Environment, and serves as the Standing Representative of the Packaging Manufacturing Sector. In response to global plastic reduction trends—including the United Nations International Plastics Treaty and the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)—source reduction has become a critical priority for businesses.Related coverage is available via Yahoo News.

Together with 23 industry partners, the Resource Circulation Administration co-developed the Retail Packaging Circular Sustainability Guidelines, which promote packaging reduction, recyclability, and circular applications without compromising functionality. As a member of the packaging manufacturing industry, KYF has long invested in the following sustainability initiatives:
-
Design for Reduction: Thinning packaging materials while maintaining required performance
-
Use of Recycled Materials: Introducing qualified recycled materials under strict food safety standards
-
Closed-Loop Systems: Ensuring recovered packaging re-enters the circular economy

Since 2024, KYF has partnered with Carrefour Taiwan and Boretech Resource Recovery Engineering Co., Ltd. to establish a closed-loop system for PET flat packaging, enabling circular packaging solutions to move from pilot initiatives to everyday application.
Joining the Alliance represents more than a corporate designation; it reflects KYF’s commitment to environmental sustainability. KYF will continue collaborating with industry partners to implement the Retail Packaging Circular Sustainability Guidelines, advancing reduction, recyclability, and circular use to help safeguard food, people, and the planet.
