Waste Management

Domestic trash and general industrial waste represent our main waste categories. We don’t generate any hazardous industrial waste.

Organizations that hold valid permits are commissioned to perform clearance and disposal operations u nder relevant provisions outlined in the W aste Disposal Act. The incinerator is the final disposal site.

Waste Management

Significance for the Company	Adhering to the “make the most of things” philosophy to reduce waste will help lower production costs and carbon emissions to alleviate the burden on the earth.
Concrete actions	Reduce: Improving product design and production processes to minimize raw material waste and reduce scrap generation. Reuse: Recycling the production trimming pieces back to manufacturing processes helps reduce production costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
Results	Reduce: Reducing material changes in machines can minimize the generation of transition waste material in the manufacturing process. Reuse: Since 2022, we have been evaluating the conversion of some non – recyclable waste, such as substitute wood, aluminum foil, plastic, and masterbatch bags, into solid recovered fuel (SRF). This initiative was of ficially implemented in 2023. The effectiveness of SRF in 2023 includes a waste reduction of 65.04 tons and a saving of $353,425 TWD in waste disposal costs.

To reduce industrial waste amounts and increase resource usage efficiency, all plants reuse trimmings generated during production processes for manufacturing after crushing and recycling. A total of 40,274 tons of trimmings were recycled and reused in 2023, which achieved a reuse rate of 46.07%.

Waste Reduction Effectiveness Tracking

In addition to the stepped–up recycling of trimmings, we also carry out internal waste reduction initiatives. The ESG Committee tracks waste improvements associated with such initiatives every quarter. The results of such proposals in 2023 were summarized in the table below:
