Waste Management
Domestic trash and general industrial waste represent our main waste categories. We don’t generate any hazardous industrial waste.
Organizations that hold valid permits are commissioned to perform clearance and disposal operations u nder relevant provisions outlined in the W aste Disposal Act. The incinerator is the final disposal site.

Waste Management
| Significance for the Company | Adhering to the principle of making the best use of materials, reducing waste helps lower production costs and carbon emissions, thereby lessening the burden on the planet. |
|---|---|
| Course of action | 1. Reduce: Improving product design and production processes to minimize raw material waste and decrease scrap generation. 2. Reuse: Collect edge trim from the production process for reintroduction into manufacturing, helping to reduce both costs and greenhouse gas emissions. |
| Results | 1. Reduce: Minimizing material changes in machines during production can reduce the generation of transition waste materials. 2. Reuse: Convert certain non–recyclable wastes, such as Epoxy Tooling Board, aluminum foil, plastic, and masterbatch bags, into Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF). In 2024, a total of 102.42 metric tons of SRF was reused, saving TWD 563,310. |

2024 Waste Overview and Statistics
General industrial waste sources:
| Items | Description of Waste Generation | Offsite/Onsite | Diverted from disposal / Directed to disposal | Remark |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Machine cleaning materials |
When the extruder changes materials or colors for production, a small amount of the new plastic raw material is first used to purge the residual plastic left from the previous process. This utilizes the melting property of the raw material when heated to clean and replace the equipment’s inner surfaces. The waste generated from this cleaning process is called “purging waste.” Purging waste is collected and reused as much as possible; only non–conforming purging waste is incinerated off–site. |
Onsite
Offsite
|
Directed to disposal—Recycling & Reuse
Directed to disposal—Incineration
|
Machine cleaning materials are recycled and reused whenever possible and are only directed to off–site incineration when they no longer meet quality standards. |
| Mold nozzle materials |
During the sheet extrusion process, plastic that fails to form properly—often containing bubbles or impurities—accumulates as solid lumps at the die head. |
Offsite
Offsite but then reintroduced into the manufacturing process for reuse
|
Diverted from Disposal—Recycling & Reuse (Dongshan Plant)
Diverted from Disposal—Recycling & Reuse (Yingge & Shulin Plants)
|
Mold nozzle materials are collected and processed by contractors into plastic raw materials, which are then reintroduced into the market for reuse.
Mold nozzle materials are crushed and pelletized by contractors into plastic raw materials for internal reuse in production processes. As of 2024, mold nozzle materials are excluded from non-hazardous waste classification.
|
| Wood | This includes wooden pallets used for transporting raw materials, wood chips from extrusion pallets, and protective pads for thermoforming molds. | Offsite | Directed to disposal—Incineration | Reusable wooden pallets are retrieved by contractors. |
| Release paper | Label remnants from stickers used on vacuum housing products. | Offsite | Directed to disposal—Incineration | – |
| Aluminum foil | Waste materials generated from external packaging of imported raw materials, including epoxy tooling boards and masterbatch bags. | Offsite | Diverted from disposal—Recycling & Reuse | Aluminum foil is processed by contractors into solid recovered fuel (SRF) rods, which are used as boiler fuel in paper mills and cement plants. |

Waste Reduction Effectiveness Tracking
In addition to the above waste reduction measures, employees are encouraged to propose improvement initiatives. The ESG Committee tracks the results of these proposals at each quarterly meeting. Internal outcomes for 2024 are as follows:
| Plant | No. of Waste Reduction Projects |
