SDGs performance

King Yuan Fu’s 2024 key performance is presented from the perspectives of economy, environment, and society, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), demonstrating our commitment to both local engagement and global sustainability action.

The SDGs, launched by the United Nations in 2015, comprise 17 core goals that aim to promote human well-being, safeguard the planet’s resources, and foster an inclusive, fair, and equitable society. Building upon our core business strengths, King Yuan Fu drives multiple SDG initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders, advancing together toward a sustainable future.

Environmental 1. Energy Governance

  • Official procurement of renewable electricity: 27% of electricity supplied through renewable electricity, progressively fulfilling the RE100 commitment.
  • Energy-saving projects in cooperation with ESCO partners: Collaborated with ESCO partners to implement and accelerate energy-saving measures, achieving annual electricity savings of 1.71 million kWh.

2. Carbon Reduction Actions

  • Promoting closed-loop recycling: In 2024, initiated collaboration with Carrefour hypermarkets to promote the concept of closed-loop recycling. By leveraging upstream and downstream cooperation, we aim to expand influence and put closed-loop practices into action.
  • Pursuing relevant certifications: Continued to obtain certifications such as ISO 14064-1 and ISO 50001 to monitor and ensure the effectiveness of energy conservation and carbon reduction.
  • rPET products: 9,414 metric tons (21.15% of total).
  • Recycling and reuse rate of regrind material: 47.58%, equivalent to a carbon reduction benefit of 142,626.9 MT CO2e.

3. Environmental Protection

  • Control of Mikania micrantha: Conduct regular environmental actions such as the control of Mikania micrantha to contribute to ecological protection.
  • Rational fertilization project: Participated in a rational fertilization program to prevent water eutrophication.
Social 1. Internal (Small S)
(1) Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

  • Cultural celebrations for migrant workers’ home countries: In 2024, a total of 4 events were organized with 1,735 participants, achieving a satisfaction rate of 95.5%.
  • Zero Placement Fee policy: Reimbursement of fees amounting to NT$3,876,741, benefiting 135 migrant workers.
  • Inclusive facilities: Implemented gender-friendly restrooms and inclusive parking spaces to demonstrate our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Employment of people with disabilities: A total of 7 employees with disabilities (1.4% of total workforce), exceeding the regulatory standard of 1.0%.

(2) Health Promotion and Workplace Safety

  • Fitness facilities: 100% of employees across all plants have access to the gym.
  • Diverse health promotion activities: Organized activities such as yoga, spinning classes, health seminars, and weight-loss competitions, achieving a 94.7% success rate in weight management.
  • ISO 45001 certification: Implemented the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System and obtained certification.

(3) Education and Talent Development

  •  Employees received an average of 29.4 hours of training.
  • Established a structured training system for supervisors, with courses closely aligned to the company’s annual business strategies and employees’ career development needs.

2. External (Big S)

  • Local community contributions: Approximately NT$20 million.
  • NGO/School educational sponsorships: NT$4.01 million invested to deepen youth talent development.
  • Community elderly care, festivals, and material donations: NT$543,000 donated.
  • Firefighting/medical sponsorships and equipment: NT$12.314 million donated, including ambulances and rehabilitation buses.
  • Sports sponsorships: NT$2.515 million, regularly supporting local table tennis athletes and related activities in Yilan.
  • Other donations: NT$1.005 million, including blood donation campaigns and movie screening events.
